Tanto per cambiare oggi parliamo di fiori! Non di un fiore qualsiasi ma di una Ninfea, le Ninfee sono piante acquatiche perenni rizomatose con fiori molto ornamentali, spesso provengono dall'Australia o dal Sud Africa. Senza ombra di dubbio è la più famosa tra le piante acquatiche. ecco da dove arrivano le mie nozioni! Se cercate la mia ninfea la trovate  a questo indirizzo

a country purple magnolia

Oggi vi parlo di un altro bel fiore, la Magnolia Liliflora (sinonimo Magnolia purpurea)
Originaria della Cina, fu introdotta in Europa nel 1970. In Giappone vive allo stato spontaneo. Un'altra specie a foglia caduca e portamento arbiustiivo che raggiunge l'altezza di 3/4 m. Fiorisce tra aprile e giugno e, a differenza di altre Magnolie, ha un periodo di fioritura prolungato e una seconda fioritura autunnale anche se molto meno abbondante.
I fiori sono eretti e chiusi, con petali lunghi circa 7/8 cm e larghi 3/4. Il loro colore va dal bianco al porpora che sfuma nel bianco esternamente.
Le foglie sono lunghe circa 10/20 cm e larghe la metà, ovate, appuntite e di color verde scuso. Ne esistono diverse cultivar tra le quali:"Nigra" a portamento compatto, fiori più grandi porpora molto scuro all'esterno; "Purpurea", che ha fiori grandi di color porpora scuro alla base, sfumati di rosa porpora verso l'apice. Naturlamente tutte queste notizie non sono farina del mio sacco ma sono di questo interessante blog dove potrete trovare interessanti notizie sul giardinaggio.
Today I show You another beautiful flower, the Magnolia Liliflora (synonymum Magnolia Liliflora). Originally fron China, was introduced in Europe in 1790. In Japan living in the wild. Another species of deciduous and shrub that reaches a height of 3/4 m.
It blooms between April and June and, unlike other Magnolias, as a long flowering period and a second flowering period in Autum althought much less aboundant. The flowers are erect and closed, with long petals about 7/8 cm wide 3/4 cm. Their color ranges from white to purple, fading on the white outside. The leaves are about10/20 cm, and half wide, ovate, pointed, dark green. There are several cultivars including "Nigra" a compat habit, larger flowers purple very dark outside; "purpurea" which has large flowers with dark purple at the base and light purple at the top. La tazza che ho dipinto è per un bambino o per una bambina e la farfalla e l'ape sul piattino non sono reali ma sicuramente simpatiche!! The cup I painted is for kids so the butterfly and the bee on the dish aren't real but  definitely nice!! You can customize the cup with the name of Your baby and I'll write on the back of the cup. La Primavera è la mia stagione preferita sia perchè la natura si risveglia sia perchè i fiori che nascono e fioriscono sono dei soggetti perfetti per essere dipinti ....... ci sono violette , ortensie , viole del pensiero e ....... ancora violette . Questo piatto dipinto a mano rappresenta un paesaggio di campagna dove fare delle belle passeggiate a contatto con la natura e lontano dalle rumorose città, mi immagino che la donzella con il cappello vaghi spensierata raccogliendo fiori di campo e godendosi la brezza primaverile.Lo trovate in vendita qui

Spring is my favourite season also because nature is waking up also because flowers in bloom are perfect to be painted......we have violets , hydrageas and ......still violets. My blue idea

Questi piatti appartengono al mio "periodo blu" mi permetto di parafrasare il grande Picasso  nella scelta del titolo del post ...ma non certo nei contenuti....
Questi due piatti sembrano uguali ma non lo sono, lo stile è lo stesso, le differenze stanno nei particolari ed è compito vostro trovarli!!!

These dishes are part of my "blue period" I take the liberty of paraphrasing the great Picasso choosing the title of this post... but not in the painting....
These two dishes look the same but they are not, the style is the same, the differences are in the details ...'s up to you to find them!

some vintage dishes

Questi piatti "vecchi" erano destinati alla spazzatura ma quando li ho visti mi è balenata un'idea, ho provato a dipingerli e facendoli cuocere ho ottenuto effetti diversi, il primo  ha l'effetto craquele' il secondo ha un'effetto anticato ,nel terzo  l'oro del bordo ha ripreso vita e l'ultimo non ha avuto modifiche evidenti, li potete trovare qui

These old dishes were intended to junk but when I sow them I had an idea , I painted them and after cooking I got some different effects , the first with a craquele' effect, the second an antique effect , the third the gold on the edge has found new life and the last has the same, You can find them here

Waiting for Spring

In questa freddissima settimana dell'anno, ho cominciato a pensare alla Primavera e alle violette, a quando tra qualche settimana,  potremo rivederle sulle rive dei canali ed un nuovo ciclo ripartirà!

In this very cold week of the year I thought to Spring and to violets and when we will see them on the little rivers near my home in the country !!!!! Everything will start again!!

Valentine's day!!

Ho preparato queste tazze  per San Valentino, quando le ho viste mi hanno fatto subito pensare a due persone che si vogliono bene e si abbracciano!!

When I bought this little wooden house in the shop It was only wood  ,   I thought it could become pretty as country-style painting  and  I try to paint It in this particular style.
Of course I'll hang it up in my garden!!




Quando vidi questa piccola casa di legno nel negozio io pensai a quando poteva diventare carina dipinta in stile country painting, ho fatto una prova e mi sono cimentata in questo stile particolare .  
Naturlamente la appendero' nel mio giardino!
